Men Can Stop Rape

Men Can Stop Rape empowers male youth and the institutions that serve them to work as allies with women in preventing rape and other forms of men's violence. Through awareness-to-action education and community organizing, we promote gender equity and build men's capacity to be strong without being violent.

MCSR Launches Strength Campaign with DC United
On February 1, 2001, MCSR, in partnership with the DC United of Major League Soccer, launched an original dating violence prevention effort targeting young men in DC public high schools with the message "My strength is not for hurting." Take a look at and buy the Campaign's posters.

2001 Frederick Douglass Awards
On April 30th, MCSR will again host the 3rd Annual Frederick Douglass Awards honoring local men of all ages who have shown a commitment to nonviolence, gender equality, and women's empowerment.

July Training
MCSR organizes half-day, full-day, and two-day trainings for activists, educators, and other youth-serving professionals seeking to build their capacity to effectively engage men in efforts to prevent rape and other forms of men's violence.
