Nations INSTRAW-GAINS MEN'S ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN ENDING GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE This programme has two collaborative activities: An e-mail based VIRTUAL SEMINAR SERIES A set of WORKING PAPERS (a call for papers is announced below). This mailing list is closely linked to the programme activities and is the best way to participate. Although some of the programme resources are web-based, these will also be sent by periodic updates to the mailing list. By joining the programme you will participate in: The discussions of the Virtual Seminar Series A forum for information and resource exchange Opportunities for Partnership Building Updates and summaries of the Working Paper Series The mailing list will last only the duration of the programme (June-December 2001) unless the community agrees to further activities. As a member of this free programme, you will be asked to participate in discussions to respectfully share your opinions and experiences. CALL FOR PAPERS - We are issuing a call for working papers with suggested topics focused on alliance building and public policies to support violence prevention initiatives that involve men. Deadline for abstracts is 30 June 2001. THE VIRTUAL SEMINAR SERIES is a series of collaborative seminars focused on men and ending gender-based violence. Experts and activists in the field facilitate each seminar. The Series BEGINS 20 JUNE with the question "How can conversations around men, masculinities and power help us understand and end gender based-violence?"
